Tackle It Tuesday: Christmas Cards

2007 December 4

My dear blogging friend, Sharyn, owns this really cool photo site. So today I am going to tackle my Christmas cards. Yes, these are my real kids.

I love getting photo cards for Christmas but the Christmas letters I could do without! I just don’t have the time to read pages and pages of everything folks have been up to all year long and quite frankly, I don’t care. I really would just rather see how everyone has changed and add their card to our family photo album.

Do you do letters? Photos? Traditional cards?

You’ve got some great looking kids! I do the traditional cards, this year I’m supposed to be making my own. I’ve only made 2 so it’s not looking too good!

You’ve got a lovely looking family! I’d love to say that I do wonderfully handmade card that people always look forward to recieving. Although, I’m lucky if I manage to get e-cards sent. **sigh**

I made cards one year with some really cute rubber stamps and I hand colored them. It took forever. I will never do that again. At least the kids are at the age where they know how to hold a smile for three or four shots instead of when they were little and I had to take a thousand pictures just to get one of them all smiling. LOL

Thanks for the mention! I never used to send holiday cards but as soon as my son was born I was compelled. I’d take the picture and design the cards earlier and earlier each year because I was so excited at showing off my kid(s). This year I finally ordered some but I’ll probably be too busy to send them until after the holidays, which is why I ordered cards with “Happy New Year” on them; last year I printed Valentine cards with the kids’ photos on them for their classes. My daughter (1st grade then) loved it but my son (4th grade then) swore he’d never do it again. I thought it was sweet, which, as we all are learning, is the kiss of death for kids that age.

Great family photo! I do send out a letter. (Ack! I know…) We have a lot of family and friends out of state who only get a yearly update. I am totally NOT offended if people don’t read it.
I, too, love getting photo cards — it’s so fun seeing our family and friends, how they’ve grown. :o )

    Blessings, Beckie :o )

I love getting family photo cards as well. It’s great seeing how your friends and family are doing, especially when they do live out of town. Your kids are adorable.

I’ll be doing family photo cards this year myself. There’s a brand new site out where you can upload your photo and create your own card, all online. It’s http://www.giggleprint.com. The prices aren’t too bad either.

Thanks and have a happy holiday!!!

    Sondra
