Liz Hickok’s Street Of Yummy Dreams
Reuben found a cool urban landscape that he could really sink his teeth into – with a spoon that is. Evidently the artwork of Liz Hickok focuses on sculptures of the city of San Fransisco using….that’s right…..Jell-O.
Liz’s exhibits are quite complex and Roxanne has a great post featuring all of her different cityscapes done in Jell-O. Some are so intricate, I just wonder what is involved when designing something like the Palace of Fine Arts…..
“Similar to making a movie set, Liz Hickok added backdrops, which were often painted, along with elements such as mountains or trees. The exhibit was dramatically lighted from the back or underneath.”
My design talents are very much similar to that of Liz Hickok’s in that I make Jell-O sculptures too. Mine come from the grocery store and are called Jigglers.

So, you’re sort of the Picasso of the Jell-O movement? I love it. I’ve been working through the gag reflex to eat Jell-O again…I went to a livestock show and found out how Jell-O is made…too icky…have a fantabulous Monday.
Ohhhhh, how is made? You must tell us….
I’d say you’re giving Hickok a run for her money!
Ground cow and pig bones, hooves, and connective tissues…Yuck…:( Why couldn’t it be something lovely and whimsical like flower nectar?
Wow! That is sick! And it always looks so pretty and colorful. I wonder why doctors always recommend jello….do they think that pig bones and cow hooves are really going to make us feel better….???

On the Jell-O…maybe it’s an old world cure all…’take two pig hooves and call me in the morning’…no one listened because it was icky, so they invented Jell-O. *l*
I wanna EAT! Heehee.
